About this ledger

Backstreet Ledger is an independent review site about browser RPGs told in text, with a soft spot for crime and city settings.

§1 What it is

A deliberately narrow site: a handful of games, each checked at the source, each given a full entry. We'd rather cover seven games properly than seventy in a line each.

§2 Why a ledger

Because these games are bookkeeping at heart — bars, timers, ranks, debts owed to a faction — and because a ledger is honest by format. Every entry has a number, a date and a balance of credit and debit.

§3 What we don't do

We don't host games, sell anything, run ads, use analytics or take payment for placement. Links to games go to official sites, without tracking parameters.

§4 Who writes it

The Editorial team. We don't publish personal bylines. Corrections and suggestions are welcome on the contact page; our method is on How we review.
